CURBSIDE RECYCLING (mandatory)

The town of Middleborough offers biweekly curbside recycling for paper, cardboard, bottles and cans to residents that pay the trash fee.   See page 2 for collection weeks.

Drop-off recycling is also available to all residents.

Materials collected curbside are banned by State regulation from disposal (310CMR 19.017), and are

RECYCLING CENTER

Brook St. landfill

Open Mon-Sat, 7:30 am -3:30 pm

Available to all Middleborough residents

All recyclables accepted at curbside are also accepted at landfill.

Permit is not required for those items (above).

The following items are banned by State regulation from disposal (310CMR 19.017) and accepted at the Brook St. landfill

A $25 annual permit available at Town clerk's office, is required to drop off the following items. 

Permit entitles resident to 12 trips/year.

See the attendant about these non-disposable items.  

An additional fee is charged for some items, payable at the landfill.

MERCURY THERMOMETER SWAPS 

Mercury is a heavy, toxic, silver liquid also found in thermostats, barometers and blood pressure cuffs.  It is illegal to dispose of mercury-added products in the trash.  It is illegal to dispose of mercury containing products in the trash.

 Bring your mercury thermometers and other mercury-containing products (excluding fluorescent tubes) to the Board of Health office during regular hours, or to Middleborough's HHW Collection and receive a free digital thermometer.
